Tulsi Manas Temple Varanasi

This is one of the famous temples in the holy city of Varanasi. It is located in Durgakund and close to the Durga temple and is dedicated to Lord Rama. It is situated where Tulsidas, the great poet lived and composed the epic” Shri Ramcharitmanas” at this place. Tulsidas had described the life history of Lord Rama in this Epic and got incredible popularity soon. Old Ramayana was written in Sanskrit so it was out of reach of general people, so Goswami Tulsi Das was the man who composed the Ramayan in Hindi. Goswami Tulsi Das lived here and wrote the famous epic Shri Ramcharitmanas. The temple has many beautiful images of Ram, Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman. Varanasi is the traditional, religious, and oldest holy city in the world.

Tulsi Manas Mandir Constructed with white marble in 1964, the temple not only looks beautiful and is also has a well-maintained garden. This temple is located on the Sankat Mochan Road, 250 meters south of Durga Kund, 700 meters north-east of Sankat Mochan Mandir, and around1.2 KM north of Banaras Hindu University.

Sankat Mochan Temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It is situated on the Assi river. Temple was constructed by the educationist and insurgent Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya (the founder of the BHU) in the early 1900s. The Hanuman Jayanti (birthday of the Lord Hanuman) is widely known per annum by organizing a special Shobha Yatra (a parade) from the Durga temple (Durga Kund) to the Sankat Mochan Temple. Sankat Mochan temple is one of the sacred temples of Hindu got Hanuman.

Dashashwamedh Ghat is that the main ghat in Varanasi city on the Ganga River. Close to the ghat, overlooking the Ganga lies the Jantar Mantar, an observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh of Jaipur within the year 1737.

Ganga Aarti (ritual of offering prayer to the Ganges river) is held daily at dusk. many priests perform this ritual by carrying deepam and moving it up and down during a rhythmic tune of bhajans.
